4Red Sox must make room for Shohei. Added Cash because I can’t imagine Marte’s worth half of Casas.
While Casas has a bright future, can't see the Reds trading Marte for a 1B as they already have CES there. If Marte was part of the deal, it would have to yield a young/controllable SP or a stud corner outfield with many years of control left.
Ya I don’t get why Marte is $20m and Mayer is like $50m. Reds would turn down a Casas/Marte swap most likely.
Mayer's prospect ratings/rankings have been significantly higher than Marte's.
