This makes no sense for the Guardians. They are not trading Clase.

This is for sure a no from Cleveland... But Bieber to Texas has merit... Let's see if I can figure a trade...

Langford fits Cleveland's need, but dealing Clase just creates another need. I don't see Clase going anywhere at this time and this isn't enough of an overpay to even make Chernoff consider it.

For this deal... -Teodo is perhaps, slightly further along at the same time as Clase' was three/four years ago.. Teodo has an equal or better FB and a MUCH better second pitch (curveball) and coming third pitch (CH).. Teodo could be an immediate "plug and play" closer in 2024.. -Kumar Rocker as a possible fast track RP or long term SP is a big risk.. His health issues are scary.. but, if he's the "healthy" goods, this deal could become one of the all time greatest in the Cleveland franchise history.. -Wyatt Langford is everything the Guardians covet in a prospect, player and person.. Defensively, he plays all three OF spot (best in a corner, probably LF), a good base runner, & has an above average arm. Offensively, he's Manny Ramirez without all the weird.. Power, contact and strike zone awareness are his strengths.. He could be the best hitter in the MiLB right now.. and would be able to hold his own in MLB.. -Josh Stephan.. I don't get why he's added here.. as a pitcher he's a slinger with command issues.. The Rangers don't need to overpay this much.. and this guy should be dropped from the deal.. IF the Guardians were to insist on the level of overpay indicated in this deal.. then someone other than Stephan would be suggested: Sam Huff or Anthony Gutierrez (who would require an additional prospect from the Guardians).. This is a better deal for the Guardians in year two than the first year.. but that time line has a chance to shrink..
