2Mariners deal from strength to get multiple affordable years of an impact bat. Rays get a needed left handed bat on a change of scenery deal, help to fix their weakness (pitching depth), and a prospect in a position they are low on in their pipeline. Oh, and they got a couple of guys (Raley to 1B, Aranda/Mead can DH) who can step into Diaz’s role. All while saving them money which we all know they will be doing.
I think we can get a better bat than Yandy for that price. I like the creativity though.
