1I can understand why both teams might say no. For the Mariners, if Miller and Woo don't keep growing, trading Gilbert could move SP from a strength to a weakness. For the Cardinals, Walker isn't even listed on here as available in any way. He is their top future player. However: The Cards have some win-now contracts, and are in desperate need of pitching to help them win. Gilbert may not be an ace, but he's a young Curt Schilling and a big upgrade on anyone they've had. Walker is blocked from his true position by Arenado (and Gorman), and even removing these two bats they have a legitimate starting 9. For the Mariners, the need bats badly. Donavan fixes the 2B whole and Walker can play RF for a year and replace Suarez in 2025.
