So what are we doing with the million other LH OF that don't have track records against lefties?

antonetticooks

He had an .880 OPS against lefties in the minors this year. Do you look at this stuff before commenting or do you have the Francona thought process that he’s a lefty so he automatically can’t hit lefties

He's had 200 ABs against lefties in his entire pro career... so there isn't enough stats one way or another lol Though they completely avoided putting him against lefties in the bigs... Either way, IF Allen is traded it will be for a PROVEN middle of the order guy from the right side since that's what they need... This deal doesn't make sense by adding Kjerstad to Kwan, Brennan, Valera with DeLauter A year away... Plus Kjerstad actually is better in RF than LF so moving Kwan actually makes no sense either... Why trade Allen to get Kjerstad when Cleveland has Valera and DeLauter close and both of them actually play a stronger OF... Now, with getting Kjerstad and Santander... Where does Kjerstad play? He's blocked in 24 and then come 25, he's a lesser player overall player than DeLauter since DeLauter is a strong defender... I'd rather have Westburg if I am going to get a bat for Allen since he adds the RH bat I'd want plus he wouldn't be any worse in the OF than Kjerstad...

I would be surprised to see Cleveland trade Allen. Cleveland builds their pitching staff from within because they can't pay the free agent pitching prospects. I don't want to see another hail mary and pray trade like last year's Syndergaard trade. I like Kjerstad's offensive potential, but I hear that he is poor defensively.

If Cleveland were to move Allen there would have to be another deal for a SP or 2. For example, Bieber to the Dodgers for Ryan and Knack could make Allen available. Maybe Freeman or Rocchio go to the Giants for Black and Whisenhunt? Could there be a deal between Cleveland and Seattle where Miller goes to the Guardians? There are scenarios that would allow them to deal Allen, but they are highly unlikely.
