This package isn't bad at all, but I think Baltimore sees Mancini as a piece to build around and will probably value him close to the high end of his range. I'm also not sure Cleveland is going to push in big chips for a potential one-game playoff.

I agree that Baltimore most likely sees Mancini as a centerpiece for their rebuild, however, if they are presented with this package or something similar, I think it would be tough to turn down. Coming off a season where Mancini was viewed as a replacement level hitter, selling high on a controllable asset would be something for Baltimore to consider. Indians definitely have a need for a middle-of-the-lineup hitter, given the lack of production from Kipnis and more disappointingly, Jose Ramirez. Mancini adds stability to the lineup, keeping them in the hunt this year and for the remaining 3 years of club control.

Baltimore should be looking for the long term, like 2022-24 and not before then. Macini has never hit this well before and is benefiting from an inflated babip, and is a terrible defender. This is the exact type of player you flip at their peak. For Cleveland, this is the exact player you pick up to shore up your lineup and take a run at the WC game. With their top end talent, especially if Jose Ramirez finds the magic again, they could run the playoffs if they could just get there.
