3Saw the discussion on dajuba proposal the other day and thought I would see what a potential deal would look like. This deal would sting a bit but would help both teams. The Bucs have position players coming up all over, but they need young pitching. They get two guys who could be up as soon as 2023 and are viewed favorably throughout baseball. In return, the Phillies get a top 5 closer and the former 1-1 in Davis. There are some questions about his ability to stick at C, but the bat plays. He'd lose some value moving to 1st base, but 1st base would be open as soon as 2024 when he is ready. I think this is a fair deal, but I think both sides would say no. I don't see organizations moving a 1-1 before they get a chance to play for them in the majors and Painter or McGarry could have as much value to the Phillies in 2023 as Bednar would in 2023.
Thanks for the insight.
