2A return to Atlanta for Cristian Pache?
It would have to be a 26-man roster spot for Pache because he's out of options. At that point, his only value is late-inning defensive replacement because he hasn't shown he can hit MLB pitching. Being a defensive replacement doesn't help him get his bat going. Someone will trade a non-zero package to the A's for him to play and get at-bats at the Major league level. Someone like the Pirates, Royals, Reds, Nationals, or even Rockies should definitely take a chance and see what he does. He's not coming to the Braves. He doesn't have enough service time to opt to become a FA if he clears waivers, he'd have to go to A's AAA team. Someone will claim him or trade for him, and "waste" a 26-man spot on rostering him, but it won't be the Braves. The Braves don't have a need for a glove-only 5th outfielder.
