8I could throw Shuster or others in this one too
As a Padres fan, they really need some bullpen pieces, maybe a SP (if Snell were to leave), and possibly D'Arnuad (Our catchers are struggling). If the Braves can make a trade including some of these pieces, that would be a win win.
I guess Vodnik and Dodd cool, and the guy Shuster too. Idk, I get that you guys would be trading for rentals, so it's possible. Part of me would feel weird giving up so much star power for just average players. That's all.
Hello friend! With speedy eyes I thought your screen name was bruegel and I thought that was the neatest thing. Pieter Bruegel the Elder is one of my favorite artists. Still, it's a cool screen name. I think the Padres are really just one good reliever away from having a decent bullpen. Coming into the season I had eyes on Robert Suarez. I thought maybe Drew Pomeranz could show up. I liked the Stammen signing. I used to like Jose Castillo. It seems like one obstacle is that there just isn't enough quality in their bullpen depth. If they're going to trade players who have contracts expiring then it's logical that they're looking to reload on pitching that can help in 2024. Hader, Snell, Lugo, Wacha and Martinez could all move on from the Padres. I totally agree with you in regards to your insight about trading away "star power". Hader hasn't yet repeated his breakout 2021 but he is really good. I think Snell's so great that I can write a thousand words about about how great he is in under 15 minutes. They're both great. However, neither one is going to get a QO and that's a factor in their value at the deadline, But more importantly, the Padres have so little chance in clawing their way back into being a contender that the smart move is just to cut their losses and come back stronger in the future. I'm not so sure that these pitchers from Atlanta are the best they can get and I sure don't think Grissom's a good match.
Hey he’s a painter! Can’t wait to learn a little about his art!
Petier Brueger the Elder, I gotta check him out! I make music actually and my stage name is Lil Casino, check it out. bhuegel is just my first initial and last name hahah, my names Billy. Anyways, you’re totally right. You better believe I’ll be rooting for the Braves a trade happens. I too think it’s best if they get some sort of return and gear up for next season. And Hader and Snell most likely need to be moved despite how awesome they are. Hoping for a fair return of course! We’ll see, good luck to your Braves this year!
I appreciate your feedback. I made a new version that added some Potential Bullpen Arms. I don't see catchers being involved unless it's Drew Lugbauer or Drake Baldwin. D'arnaud is too valuable to lose over rental options.
I appreciate your screen name. I too am a Braves fan. I too would like to see them acquire Josh Hader and Blake Snell. I too would add Jared Shuster to this trade, I like Snell a lot. It could end up that he's the best starting pitcher traded at the 2023 deadline. I like Hader too. The 2021 NLDS faceoff between Freeman and Hader remains EPIC. I'm very skeptical about a trade like this working out. I don't see the San Diego Padres prioritizing Vaughn Grissom as the player they get back in return. I think they'd prefer Kim and Tatis Jr. Dodd and Vodnik, and Shuster too, are not quite convincing me that they're solid Major Leaguers. I feel like that's what the Padres are shopping for as they retool for 2024 and beyond.
