Would like to hear what a Rockies fan's thoughts are. With the Dodgers, Padres, and potentially Giants pulling further away and the D-Back farm developing some impressive prospects, I would think the Rockies would look at this as a time to retool. This would free up 20M in salary commitments and bring in a young pitching prospect in McFarlane. He is currently rated as the 10th-best prospect in the Phillies organization and has a high 90s fastball and slider. He offers a potential 3-pitch mix, so he could develop into a starter, but most likely is destined for the pen. Regardless, arms are hard to find in colorado so he could be a plus. Hall has proven himself to be a MLB hitter and could be a bridge player for the next generation of Rockies hitters. Also with the thin Coors air, Hall could put up some impressive numbers and the Rockies could flip in a year or two. For the Phillies I think it would be a win. You'd get a replacement-level backup OF in Grichuk who hits LHP well and a mid to top-of-the-rotation SP in Marquez without breaking the bank on FA in terms of dollars or years.
