11Wiliams can also arrive sometime in 2023 so this Guardian fan says no. Not a fan of Gson's proposal either.
It's an interesting deal... I actually don't think Cleveland is willing to put Karinchak in the deal. I could deal with losing Williams if we got a Stone back, but this deal hurts Cleveland in 23 cause I don't know who is replacing Karinchak, but then again, I am the one who believes you can never have to many high leverage arms...
My take on a trade proposed by Gson. Dodgers have a couple of holes to fill ahead of the 2023 season, SS and CF being chief among them. Bryan Reynolds would fill that need in CF, and he is extremely valuable because they have control of him through 2025. Amed Rosario takes over at SS for the Boys in Blue, sliding Gavin Lux back over to 2B, and having the recently acquired Miguel Rojas fill an infield utility type of role. Dodgers also replace the injured Daniel Hudson in the bullpen with James Karinchak, who would likely be the setup man or even closer, depending on how Roberts wants to use him. Guardians receive two top 100 MLB prospects, RHP Gavin Stone, and 3B/1B/COF Miguel Vargas. Vargas adds some much needed pop to their lineup, and Gavin Stone replaces Gavin Williams, who is heading to Pittsburgh in this deal. Stone is very similar to Williams, but has an earlier eta, so he could help them in 2023 instead of 2024. Finally, they recieve pitching prospect landon knack, who is also MLB ready and should debut in 2023. The Pirates are rumored to be looking to trade reynolds, and this could be the trade to do it. They would receive one of the Guardians top pitching prospects, Gavin Williams, and another top 100 pitching prospect in Ryan Pepiot. OF Andy Pages would help replace Reynolds production in the OF over the next half decade and RHRP daniel hudson adds a veteran presence to a very young team. Any thoughts?
Would love for Cleveland to get their hands on Stone, but not at the expense of Williams. Take Williams and Vargas out of the deal and it might be more acceptable. I'm willing to deal Karinchak even though it would be difficult to replace his effectiveness. Are the Dodgers still interested in Rosario after trading for Rojas?
Another deal I came up with, but the trade simulator doesn't allow to post is... Dodgers get Reynolds, Rocchio Cleveland gets Vargas Pirates get SP Miller (LAD), Allen (CLE) Pepiot, Knack and Outman... I don't see why Pittsburgh wouldn't do that deal... If Anything Cleveland needs a PTBNL or another prospect back from someone... @JohnBlitzer is there a way to explain why that one won't post?
Good Lord! The Pirates would be making out like Bandits in that deal. I know you like Vargas and all, but I'm not doing that. I'd rather have Outman than Vargas and I like Vargas too.
Reynolds isn't going anywhere unless the Pirates get what they want. What they want is a couple top end pitching prospects, plus some. Cleveland doesn't exactly have a spot for Outman with Brennan and Straw. Outman makes a ton of sense in the return for Reynolds. Pirates said they gotta get pitching, so Miller or Stone plus Pepiot... Pirates will only deal him for their price and nothing less, so I don't think he will be moved yet.
Then take out Williams and stone goes to the Pirates instead. Does that work for you?
Better
if you haven't noticed.. if it's Williams or Espino.. a MASSIVE over pay or "no way" is your answer from him... The suggested take out Williams and move Stone to the Pirates.. makes the Pirates say no.. they would want Miller if Williams or Espino are not included.. otherwise, they're not trading Reynolds (imho.. to their detriment).. As far as Reynolds playing CF.. not a good idea.. The Ji Hwan Bae suggested from the previous deal is a vastly better idea...
Then Reynolds can stay in Pittsburgh. I am not trading Espino or Williams if I am the Guardians.
