This is an intriguing trade idea. As a Braves fan, I'm not into it. However, as a fan of interesting trade ideas, I think this is good stuff and I thank you. It's certainly possible that Ian Anderson's going to struggle again in 2023. I hope not. Maybe that 2021 shoulder injury is a bigger setback that'll hinder him for the rest of his career. I don't think it's like that, but maybe. I just don't know what to make of him. I'd like to see him use his FB up. He's not good 3rd time. Long relief guy? I feel like that's giving up on him though. Anderson's a bit of an outlier with the number of IP in the ML given his age and that's an interesting data point to keep in mind. He's last on my list for SP's making the Braves Opening Day roster and I expect the Braves can be patient with him, as they mostly were in 2022. The guy hasn't yet reached Arbitration, so the team has him for 4 years. There's nothing right now that's compelling for me about trading away this guy now. I'm all in on seeing the Braves get him into Spring Training game, maybe s At mid-season last year this site had his value at 4 times what it has him for now. Trevor Larnach has seen less than a total season's worth of playing time in the Majors. He was up for the month of June, played well, then was hurt. He came back for just a few AAA games in September. Looks like he's got a big swing and I'm cool with dreaming big here. Looks like he's got an arm and a batting eye. I don't follow the Twins enough to know much about Larnach. I'd like a larger sample size and some more recent ML AB's to go on before I'm ready to get with this site's evaluation for him. Raisel Iglesias is one of the more dominant relief pitchers in the Majors. He's not Top 10 for me, but Top 15 or so. In 2022, Iglesias was even better for the Braves than he was for the Angels and his aggregate numbers from 2020-22 are crazy-good. This site has him pegged for a low 2.9 median value and this is only because he's one of the top salaries for RP's. But that's because he's that good with a consistent track record to prove it. Over 7 years! The Braves can afford him, they don't need to shed payroll right now, and he's a key guy in the bullpen. I agree that Minter's there and could probably be a good closer for them but why weaken this part of the team? The Twins just made quite the investment in Carlos Correa. Iglesias is $48/3. This trade would make Iglesias the team's 2nd highest paid player. Having that guy be the Closer with that $ ... just doesn't seem like a real match for me. And I wouldn't want Iglesias closing for the Twins anyways as I like big boy/big heat Jhoan Duran a lot, lot more for that job in 2023. Cool trade idea, stuff to consider. Let's watch Larnach and Anderson both rise to an equal value by mid July and I'll be thrilled to see this trade happen.
