2Why not? Torres and Snell are big trade candidates and I could see the teams swapping them. For the Padres, adding Torres would be nice, making it possible to slide Cronenworth over to 1B and putting Torres at 2B (assuming they don't sign one of the big-name shortstops). German helps replace Snell (doesn't hurt that he has 2 more years of control and is cheaper) and Gil looked pretty solid in his debut year before being hurt (almost a lottery ticket, really), while Montero is a nice little throw-in (not a huge part of the deal, but he's young (18) and talented). Thoughts?
Snell is not a "trade candidate", padres only have 4 starters and preller loves hoarding starting pitchers.
