1How does getting Ward and Verdugo work in Cleveland? Verdugo reaches FA the same time that Bieber does(2025). It would probably be better just to hang onto Bieber. I obviously like the addition of Ward and he doesn't reach FA until 2027 which works with Cleveland's contention window starting in 2025. If Walter is worth having then the Red Sox should probably keep him. He'd be buried in Cleveland's system. Rodriguez-Cruz isn't even worth discussing. Quero was a good target for Cleveland, but he might become blocked should Naylor hit the ground running. Quero is at least 2-3 yrs away. I think Chernoff will pump the brakes on spending that much on a C prospect right now. He may choose to look a less expensive options at this point.
