Surprised Rojas is rated this low... Yes for Pirates, no for Phillies. It's just too much to give up in my opinion

Russ

He is rated this low because, eliminating all of 12 games in the Fall League, he has yet to show he can hit. Sands is a bat-first back-up long term, but that is a useful tool the Pirate can have behind Davis, and one the Phillies already have a good back-up. If the Phillies have Reynolds ( a large improvement over March, of whom I am a fan), Marsh is an expendable CF to take over for Reynolds in Pittsburgh). And he's cheaper which should appeal to Bob Nutting. Guthrie is a nice player, but without a position at CBP; he has some pop which is something thew Pirates can use. Abel is a strong prospect, but he hasn't shown he is that close to ready, and a prospect is always one tweak of the shoulder from being a former prospect. Besides, that still leaves the Phillies with Painter, McGarry and the other kids, most of whom look more ready to contribute to the big club. My concern is that Pittsburgh will get better offers, not that this deal is too expensive. Or that they'll trade him to an AL team to avoid having him show up with a visiting as often.
