1Yankees lose Cordero for the season and can replace him with Leiter Jr who has been absolutely stellar this year for the Cubs. They can also improve that outfield with Bellinger with the uncertainty of Judge and Cabrera having a less than stellar year. Cubs can hopefully add for the future in 3rd baseman Trey Sweeney. Cubs were rumored to be in on him in 2021. This opens up space for outfield prospects who are rule 5 eligible or potential free agents at the end of the year like Perlaza in the outfield and as well Luis Vazquez and Jake Slaughter in the infield for the rest of the year to see what they have on the farm. Yankees may be more than willing to part with a former first rounder and fill holes at the major league level as they make a push in the highly contested AL east.
