1After looking through the MLBTR’s comment section…it is clear that the Cubs fans would prefer to land some 3B prospects more than anything else. Zach Dezenzo, the Astros #6 prospect according to Baseball America. A ‘22 draftee, he has gotten off to a scalding start to his pro career, leading all of the MILB with an average hovering around .400 for a good portion of this year. He is a 3rd baseman, even though he’s listed as a 1st baseman here. He has some position versatility to him & could maybe even play 2B or a corner OF spot as well. He was a SS last year in college at Ohio State. Currently in AA Colton Gordon-LHP, Astros #1 pitching prospect in the system according to MLB pipeline & #8 overall. Having a very nice season in AA. Joe Perez, 3B & Astros #14 prospect according to MLB pipeline. He’s currently in AAA, but has already made his big league debut. 23 years old & has big time power potential at the plate. Rylan Bannon, MLB UTIL IF. Has played mostly 3B & 2nd…and has shown an ability to hit in AAA, but has failed to hit at MLB level in limited opportunities. More of a depth piece at 3B than a true heralded prospect like Dezenzo or Perez.
