11That is true about Cleveland's plethora of MIF talent but Peraza does fit the CLE brand of baseball, I think you guys would love him. But that would require a massive overhaul of both teams rosters (maybe not the worst thing but unlikely to happen.)
First off, Kwan isn't available... Secondly, Bauers completely wore out his welcome in Cleveland... They wouldn't touch him with a ten foot pole...
Kwan is a nice player, fits LF in yankee stadium perfectly but a 103 OPS+ corner outfielder is untouchable? He'll lose half his value by this time next year, Yanks need him now and the Indians don't. Fine we will keep Jack Bauer as a dumb tax.
Cleveland is planning on extending Kwan... He's not available...
If they cant get it done he will look nice in pinstripes.
They won't trade him at earliest until after the 25 season when he goes into Arb 2... So it's not gonna happen anytime soon...
Even if it is a trade that really benefits both teams? The big LF at Yankee Stadium has been a black hole since Gardy left and Kwan would be perfect for it and we haven't really had a traditional leadoff man in a couple years.
They may be open to dealing Kwan, I know I would, but it would require an extraordinary player in return and this deal doesn't provide that. Cleveland sure as hell doesn't want Bauers back. That I promise you. We're also doing pretty well at C now so I doubt they invest that much value into acquiring one.
Wells is certainly improving at catcher but many people believe he will be more of a 1B or LF, great lefty bat a little slower start to this year due to missing spring training with injury. Similar to Carlos Santana, the bat is the prize if he can stick at C that's a massive plus.
It would have to benefit both teams plus be an overpay... Bauers we know, won't be in Cleveland via a trade... Peraza and Wells are two guys not on Clevelands list at all... Peraza has no spot on the roster since Cleveland is deep in MIF prospects. He makes no sense for Cleveland and neither does Wells since he isn't a good fielder at all... At the end of the day, Yankees don't have an offer Cleveland would want... At least I don't see one...
How deep in your backside to you have to go to pull that out? There have been no hints or leaks about a Kwan extension.
