Neither Gimenez nor Williams are available from Cleveland's side... If you put a deal for Gorman for Rocchio plus a prospect or two, Cleveland would at least think on it, but likely wouldn't do it. They have Naylor and Manzardo for 1B/DH going forward so I am not sure where a hitting first playing first into a defensive first organization with those spots taken. Josh Naylor is likely to get a contract extension this off season...

This one is no better than the other one for obvious reasons. How would the call from St. Louis go? "Hi Mike, we'd like to improve our club by getting your fantastic young SP and AS 2B that you just signed to a team friendly extension for a lesser SP and a player that you'd have to move to your crowded OF". Even with Gimenez's offensive struggles in the first half, his current WAR is 3.7. Williams' WAR is 1.1 in his small sample this season. Meanwhile, Liberatore is sporting a -.8 WAR in a much larger sample and Gorman has 1.9 WAR in a full season's worth of AB to this point. So you're asking Cleveland to trade 4.8 WAR for 1.1 WAR. If you average Williams out to Liberatore's IP then the gap is significantly more than that. The idea that Gimenez's value is only 2.3 is not right or accurate. No team would deal him for that pittance and his new contract is a steal even with his current 90 OPS+.
