8I'll be sincere... Cleveland for sure says no... One, Stephan and Gimenez just signed those extensions, Cleveland doesn't trade players they extended until there is a year or two left in their contracts... Two, Cleveland has Josh Naylor (who became a monster at 1B) and just traded Civale for Manzardo (who has All-Star potential at 1B). They aren't trading for Goldschmidt... Three, Williams isn't available in any deal... Gorman can hit, and that bat would be lovely in Cleveland in a sense, but no way Cleveland is willing to do this deal...
You must have fallen and bumped your head to think that the Guardians would trade Williams. As SC pointed out, 1B is not a need for Cleveland. I do like Gorman, but not at the expense of Williams. The fact that there is more than 10M in excess value in favor of the Cardinals in this deal is laughable.
It's the opposite.
Regardless of the BTV values, I don't see Cleveland doing this deal. Cleveland does not need a 1B and is not trading Gavin Williams.
Sorry, either I wasn't clear or you're misunderstanding me. This deal has Cleveland getting(St. Louis giving) $11M+ excess value. This is one of those deals that you'll never see happen because it's not realistic and the values seem a bit unbalanced. I'm not complaining about the values, I'm just explaining why this deal won't happen and why Cleveland would never do it. If the values were dead nuts even for both teams, Cleveland still wouldn't do it because they would not be better off making this deal. Actually, the opposite is probably true. While I'm at it, I would like to better understand how this site could have Liberatore at $22M while at the same time having Logan Allen at $7.7M. There are no analytics to support that. In fact, if you look into the peripherals the the values are reversed if anything.
Yeah, Allen looks low. We'll double-check the inputs on that one to make sure the model isn't confusing him with the other Logan Allen.
Logan Allen has been updated to 21.0. It was indeed an error. The system wasn't reading his inputs properly due to the inconsistencies of his name -- sometimes with a T., sometimes not. Anyway, we've fixed that. Thanks for the catch.
Thanks John. That value seems very fair to me. I was wondering if the other Logan Allen had some influence on the value. lol
