6Big trade here. But will the Orioles give up 2 core players and a quality prospect for Soto and Glasnow?
Nah. The Rays aren’t trading their Ace within the division.
Why would the Ray's trade their ace to their biggest contender in the division?
To get Basallo
If they like Basallo behind the plate long term, they absolutely would imo.
I don't think they'd trade Glas in a 1 for 1 deal for a young prospect either. That said, this isn't the David Price situation, where the Rays were uncompetitive and just wanted to maximize the return. This Rays team wants to contend for the division next year, which precludes them trading an Ace to this year's division winner.
