Don’t think this trade will work for the Rays, but I’m really surprised Brewer fans don’t like it. The DH position was a black hole for the Brewers last year, ranking dead last in the league by team wRC+. Ramirez would improve DH production by over 50% and he’s expected to cost less than $5MM next year. Milner is a good reliever (though the Rays let him go a few years ago), but improving the Brewers offense in general and the DH position specifically has to have more impact on the Brewers team than Milner does from the Pen.

Spikes

I'm a Brewer fan and I agree with you. I think the Brewers would jump at this. Ramirez isn't the ideal trade candidate because of his apparent defensive limitations but to add a bat like this for a 32-year-old relief pitcher is a good trade for Milwaukee. Milner is good but Ramirez's bat would be welcome in the Brewer lineup.
