It’s possible the Rays look to move any piece for major league assets for their competitive window (I.e., starting pitching and bullpen help), but Ferris seems like the kind of arm the Rays covet and they certainly have guys waiting to take Ramirez’s spot.

I like it for the Rays. I think we see Ramirez moved this offseason. His contract is getting pricey (but cheap as hell by baseball standards), his trade value has risen to the point where he can return a decent player or two, and the Rays prefer the DH position to be a committee approach and they have plenty of options for that committee.
