Cleveland isn't trading Clase... They are building around him...

Yours is a good deal.. I voted in the affirmative for it.. however... The Cardinals may want to take a look at a different approach to solving their rotation problems.. [This deal wasn't accepted by BTV & not sure why.. :] ==Cardinals get: Shane Bieber and Brayan Rocchio from Cleveland & Dylan Cease from the CWSox.. ==Guardians get: Dylan Carlson, Gordon Graceffo and Ivan Herrera from St. Louis ==White Sox get: Alec Burleson, Tommy Edman, Cooper Hjerpe and Masyn Winn from St. Louis All three teams are +/- 2.0 in the BTV assigned value. Taking a queue from RedBird Rants, this three teamer is essentially two separate deals.. The CWSox and Guardians do not exchange players. -The Cardinals acquire two immediate TOR/MOR SP's along with their future and immediate starting SS.. -The CWSox replace their entire infield (including Tim Anderson's replacement) with seasoned &/or able defenders and batsmen. Cease is replaced by Cooper Hjerpe, a four pitch SP that can throw all four of his plus pitches for strikes, but, may only be ML ready until the end of the 2024 season at the earliest. This deal consummates what may best be described as a complete rebuild of the infield for the Pale Hose.. FWIW, if the CWSox would prefer Tekoah Roby instead of Cooper Hjerpe, that would be acceptable for this deal, but, would require a ca$h infusion from the CWSox to the Cardinals to make up the difference in values. The Guardians' Bieber was able to exhibit full health in two starts to finish the season. His FB velo during these two starts was within 0.2 MPH (91.6 mph vs. 91.4 mph) of the previous years' worth of statistics. With a full off season to prepare, he should be more than ready for the 2024 season, his "foundation" year under team control. The addition of Brayan Rocchio to St. Louis would provide the Cardinals with the Guardians # 1 prospect and one helluva baseball player. The return to Cleveland includes a RHH backstop who can pair with young Bo Naylor to form a solid to spectacular catching group, a near ML ready (approximately a year away) SP to replace Bieber and a switch hitting currently "damaged goods" OF'er who can play all three spots in the OF. It is the opinion of myself that Carlson will be ready to go for spring training. His injury history should be behind him. Three teams.. all with their biggest needs satisfied.. Thoughts?

As far as the proposal listed, I don't see Cleveland trading Clase. As far as Gson's version. I am personally not a fan of Dylan Carlson. "Damaged Goods" is and has been his middle name. You must have more faith in him than I do. Herrera s fine for a back up catcher. I just don't see the upside for 2024 for the Guardians. I don't see any trade not addressing 2024 being made by the Guardians.

Clase kills this deal. How do they use the LHH Gorman? I'd agree to a deal that sends Bieber to the Cardinals in exchange for Herrera long before agreeing to this deal. I just don't think it's realistic with Clase in it. That doesn't make me right by any means, but that is certainly my opinion. I honestly don't want to trade with the Cardinals. Unless they're sending Walker they don't have much else to offer that instills much confidence in me. I do like Herrera and Carlson is a good "buy low" candidate. Neither should come at the expense of Bieber IMO. Now, if they are interested in Quantrill then I'm sure there is a discussion to be had.
