2The Rangers hinted today that they might sell, and if they do, Choo and Minor are two pieces they'd see about moving. Here, the A's take on about half of Choo's salary, and in return get a solid leadoff option against RHP (if they're willing to put up with some iffy corner outfield defense). They also get a year and a half of a front-line starter in Minor and a depth lefty reliever in Springs. In exchange, they give up a blocked slugger in Neuse that could play third base for Texas right away. They'd also trade a former first-round pick with plenty of upside in Beck, but that's the price of doing business.
When the active roster expands next year, Choo has a place as a pinch hitter.
