3I see you put in some thought here. Sox would get a 1B OF in Naylor, help in their bullpen, and a starting pitcher prospect all that fill needs for Boston. Would the Padres sell out for a one year player? Interesting idea. Good job.
New guy here.. Any chance the Red Sox say yes? They get one of the best closers in the league and small restock of the farm. I think the average Padres fan would say this is an overpay for 1 year of anyone.. For some reason I can't stop thinking about Betts becoming a Padre.
It's plausible because the Padres' owner has demanded that the team be competitive in 2020, and they have a roster crunch, which means they should trade quantity for quality. The Sox would lose their star, but they'd save $21M that they could put to a possible FA OF replacement.
