2The Rays would probably need to acquire another middle infielder because it doesn't look like Taylor or Areinamo are ready yet. And I highly doubt Simpson would move back to the infield. I'd argue second base is the biggest hole in the Giants lineup. And if they aren't gonna sign bats they can still make small trades for rentals with upside.
Lowe can hit, but the Giants would be better off adding guys who show up well against LHP. And who can field better than Lowe. Also: did anyone actually say they’re not going to sign bats? Maybe they did, but all I can find is that they’re not going to sign SPs to long-term deals.
