9After missing out when Kyle Tucker goes north of the border, the Yankees respond by landing an outfielder who's arguably even better in Fernando Tatis Jr. The Padres rebuild their rotation and get out from the Tatis contract. The Reds add some "help right now" type players to continue their push for playoff relevancy.
Interesting trade. Has some legs. Yankees can afford Tatis salary. Padres maybe happy to get out from under that contact? I don't know. He is the face of their franchise I would say.
There's some rumors that the Padres might look to trade Tatis to upgrade their rotation, as well as four salary relief. Remember, the Padres are for sale, and big . This trade does that for them, while also adding other players.
Why a 3 team machination when the Pads can just deal Hunter Greene for Tatis? Satisfies both teams need.
