3Assuming Gray is willing to waive his NTC... the Cardinals save $20 MM in '26 payroll and get a healthy arm to polish. The A's add a SP that can push everyone in the rotation down a notch and gain a defensive upgrade at C2.
Hmmmmm, for the Cards viewpoint, yes!!!!!!!! I just don't think Sonny will waive his NTC to go to Saccramento
The NTC is certainly an obstacle but I'm trying to figure out what the Cards want in return for the cash investment if Gray gives the OK for the A's. And how far is St. Louis willing to pay down the contract to maximize their return?
