3I wonder how much the trade values of Rushing and Isaac will fall in the offseason. I imagine quite a bit for each.
Isaac is to the point I'd rather wait to see if he rebounds next year cause I'm sure he's preceived value is low right now, just like Taylor, might as well wait them out IMO, I'm not sold on Rushing's ability to stay at catcher long term and Hopkins really broke out this year so I'm not really liking this deal
I’ve never believed Rushing to the Rays makes sense because of the Rays preference for strong defensive catchers. That said, I have more hope for Taylor rebounding given his 2nd half play than I do for Isaac. I would be more than fine with trading Isaac at this valuation. However, giving up Uceta at this valuation, given his 2024 performance and 2nd half 2025 surge, seems as close to zero as there is. And then there is Hopkins, who I see as the Rays’ 2nd best pitching prospect. I wouldn’t want to trade him for a flawed prospect like Rushing. So yeah, this trade probably has zero chance of happening.
