JRam isn't available, not an opinion, but an actual fact... IF he was this wouldn't work... First reason, they wouldn't be grabbing anyone that's in arbitration unless it's a stop gap player... Paredes is an arb player and one of the main pieces...

I don't disagree about Ramirez's availability. But it's not as if Paredes would be there for a much shorter time than Ramirez, 3 years versus 4. Cleveland would also be getting a top 100 prospect, a MLB ready pitcher, and another pitcher in the Cubs top 30. I do appreciate your feedback. I am a Cubs fan and will admit my bias in most trades I propose. I was thinking of an impact trade they could possibly make.

Problem is Ramirez signed a deal with a no trade clause... He's not available... Plus IF Cleveland did trade him with that many years left on the table, they wouldn't want anyone that's in arbitration unless it was a rental like Puig was... I'm not saying the rest of the return is bad, but spending half of his return on a player in Arb isn't something Cleveland would do since they would be looking at the long term again, which they arent right now... Cleveland doesn't trade guys with team unless the return fit their need greater than the original player did... This deal gives them depth, but no one proven... Wicks isn't better than Cantillo, Allen, Webb, Nikhazy group Cleveland has in house... Alcantara is still ceiling over actual baseball skill right now... Knowing Cleveland's FO, they would likely counter with a deal like Shaw, Horton, Southisene and Birdsell for JRam...
