2M's sign Walker Buehler and Justin Turner to 1 year contract. Evans, Garcia or Morales will be ready the following year for the 5th starter role. O's get a TOR arm who is still growing and thin out their glut of infielders. Ray's get a toolsy prospect
Rays might love Peete and when they fall in love with a prospect they often do everything they can to get him, even when they shouldn't. Morel is an example of that. They feel in love with him when he was undervalued, watched his value soar above his actual production, and then overpaid for him in the Paredes trade. He rewarded that love by playing worse than any other player in baseball in the 2nd half of the 2024 season. So yeah, I could see the Rays really love Peete, who they apparently wanted to draft. That said, the Rays rarely trade productive MLers for just 1 prospect, and I don't think they'll trade B.Lowe in a 1:1 trade. Rays say no to this trade.
