There are two problems with a Herrera trade to the Rays. First, he’s not a good backstop and the Rays value catcher defense more than offense. Second, the Rays almost never pay up for major league talent. The idea that they would trade their 2023 first rounder (Taylor) AND their most exciting/intriguing prospect (Simpson) is laughable. Rays say no.
